KidsOnline UnConference October San Francisco
Hi everybody. Joi Podgorny is gauging interest for participation in an unConference in October for our group KidsOnline. She organized one last fall and it was fantastic. I am definitely there again this year.
She asked us to put the word out on the AOCM, so I am just going to copy her message and hope the links work. If not, ping me and I will get you an invite to the group. Lots of great information for those of us working with kids online.

Hello Hello Friends!
Hope everyone is having a great summer (or winter if you are southern hemisphere inclined).
Wanted to shoot a note out to see if there was interest in doing another unconfernece this October. I will be out in the San Francisco area for Forum One's Online Community Summit on Oct 8 & 9. So we were thinking of having a day dedicated to talking informally about issues concerning kids in the online space in the unconference format.
We did this a year ago in November and it was a great day. Always great to talk shop with passionate folks.
If we did this again, would you be interested in coming? I made a handy poll so we don't have to mail-bomb each other with replies:

Additionally/Alternatively, I was chatting with a couple people about having regular global cocktail parties where we could talk shop too. These could be held or hosted at a local bar or company in various cities, preferably on the same day. Then everyone from that city could get together, have a drink and talk about kids online issues. I put a bit in the form above to gauge interest. I think it sounds fun and depending on where I am on the day we organize it, I would totally help host one.
Feel free to forward the form to anyone else you think would be interested (e-mint list, AOCM list, etc), especially if they don't want to sign up for this listserv but might be interested in coming to one of these events.
